Councillor Eric Beauregard

 Eric Beauregard

I am a young up-and-comer to the political stage, being 26 years of age when first elected as Councillor in October of 2018.

I am not only passionate about local politics, I am passionate about the law as well - I am pursuing a career as a Paralegal with a focus on Administrative and Municipal law. Given my choice of career, my educational background will come of no surprise: I have both a Master of Arts Degree and Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University, and most recently received my Honours Graduate Certificate in Paralegal Studies at Georgian College.

I am the eldest son of Laurent (Larry) and Anne Beauregard and was born and raised in Port Colborne.  After leaving Port Colborne for a brief time to pursue education and employment, I came back to my hometown, where I plan to stay and make a difference in my local community.

Councillor Angie Desmarais

Angie Desmarais

It is both an honour and a privilege to represent the residents of Ward 2 at the council table.

Born and raised in Toronto, I am the product of a working-class Italian-Canadian family. Along with my two children, I moved to Port Colborne in 1986 when I met and married my husband Gilles.  We have lived at 270 Davis St for the past 30 years.

Having served on many boards and committees in Niagara, my volunteer background has provided me with opportunities to work on addressing many local issues.  My personal interests include the study of the history and the families of the Ottawa Valley and of Quebec’s Eastern Townships.

In this, my third term of Council, while striving to carry out the policies and objectives needed to bring prosperity and growth to our city, I will continue to:

·         Bring Ward 2 concerns to the forefront in council chambers

·         Make sure that your tax dollars focus, first and foremost, on the services that are delivered to your door

·         Seek direction from each of you to build a community of which we can all be proud

·         Support the development of growth initiatives that best suit the needs of Port Colborne residents.

I welcome contact from any residents wishing to share their opinions and concerns. Contact can be made via email at angiedesmarais@portcolborne.ca, or by phone at (905) 835-5021.
